    Makerere University in ISC World University Rankings 2019: An Overview

    Overall Performance of Makerere University within OIC Region:

    Based on ISC World University Rankings 2019 overall rank, Makerere University (rank=701-800) together with eight other universities ranked 25th among all OIC universities (Figure 2).

    Performance of Makerere University in OIC/World within Each Criterion:

    I. Research Criterion

    Studying the performance of top OIC universities in Research criterion, Makerere University, with the Research score of 64.5, ranked 41st among all OIC universities. King Abdulaziz University, King Abdullah University of Science & Technology, and King Saud University ranked 1st to 3rd respectively.

    At the global scale, and in Research criterion, the score obtained by Makerere University was 64.5 together with 8 other universities (rank=895) (Figure 3).

    II. Education Criterion

    Studying the performance of OIC universities in Education criterion, Makerere University, with the Education score of 3.8 ranked 107th together with Yildiz Technical University, University of Nigeria, and Yasouj University among all OIC universities. Acibadem University, King Abdulaziz University, and Hitit University ranked 1st to 3rd respectively.

    At the global scale, and in Education criterion, the score obtained by Makerere University was 3.8 (rank=1274) together with 9 other universities (Figure 4).

    III. International Activity

    Studying the performance of top OIC universities in International Activity criterion, Makerere University with the International Activity score of 76.4 ranked 5th together with Ain Shams University among all OIC universities (Figure 5). King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, and Universiti Malaya ranked 1st to 3rd respectively.

    At the global scale, and in International Activity criterion, the score of Makerere University was 76.4 (rank=312) together with three other universities (Figure 6).

    IV. Innovation Criterion

    The last criterion in ISC World University Rankings 2019 is Innovation. Here, Makerere University with the Innovation score of 3.2 ranked 42nd together with Gebze Technical University among all OIC universities. King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, King Saud University, and Middle East Technical University ranked 1st to 3rd respectively.

    At the global scale, and in Innovation criterion, the score of Makerere University was 3.2 (rank=1066) together with 20 other universities (Figure 7).
