Overall Performance of Universiti Sains Malaysia within OIC Region:

Based on ISC World University Rankings 2019 overall rank, Universiti Sains Malaysia (rank=501-600) ranked 10th among all OIC universities together with Ain Shams University, Qatar University, American University of Beirut, Istanbul University, and Middle East Technical University.

Performance of Universiti Sains Malaysia in OIC/World within Each Criterion:

I. Research Criterion

Studying the performance of top OIC universities in Research criterion, Universiti Sains Malaysia, with the Research score of 67.7, ranked 18th together with Bogazici University among all OIC universities. King Abdulaziz University, King Abdullah University of Science & Technology, and King Saud University ranked 1st to 3rd respectively.

At the global scale, and in Research criterion, the score obtained by Universiti Sains Malaysia was 67.7 (rank=711) together with four other universities (Figure 2).

II. Education Criterion

Studying the performance of OIC universities in Education criterion, Universiti Sains Malaysia, with the Education score of 14.8 ranked 11th among all OIC universities. Acibadem University, King Abdulaziz University, and Hitit University ranked 1st to 3rd respectively.

At the global scale, and in Education criterion, the score obtained by Universiti Sains Malaysia was 14.8 (rank=143) together with Ohio State University (Figure 3).

III. International Activity

Studying the performance of top OIC universities in International Activity criterion, Universiti Sains Malaysia with the International Activity score of 75.7 ranked 10th among all OIC universities (Figure 4). King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, and Universiti Malaya ranked 1st to 3rd respectively.

At the global scale, and in International Activity criterion, the score of Universiti Sains Malaysia was 75.7 (rank=339) (Figure 5).

IV. Innovation Criterion

The last criterion in ISC World University Rankings 2019 is Innovation. Here, Universiti Sains Malaysia with the Innovation score of 2.3 ranked 58th together with Universiti Putra Malaysia, Akdeniz University, and Sakarya University among all OIC universities. King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, King Saud University, and Middle East Technical University ranked 1st to 3rd respectively.

At the global scale, and in Innovation criterion, the score of Universiti Sains Malaysia was 2.3 (rank=1248) together with 29 other universities (Figure 6).
